Just spoke to a CR at B&H, I asked how many do they have in stock. He replied that his computer doesn't say how much but does say "3+ units" meaning there are 3 or more units in stock.

He also said that the B&H website is totally live meaning if it says "In-Stock" it really means in-stock! (unlike some of the stories we've heard lately)

awesome tip! I decided that I can make use of the kit lens, and called to change my order.
Order Status: In stock, order sent to warehouse

that's way better than the Status : Backordered that I have been moaning about all morning (order # 591xx, placed at 9am mst aka WAY TOO LATE)

THANKS!! Ordered right away and free delivery tomorrow (Friday!). ;D

Will cancel Amazon now, went from April 5-9 to April 2 to nothing and nothing still. :o Lesson learned. ;D

Yep, just called (2:45pm CDT) and ordered the 5d Mark III kit from B&H, next day shipping with tracking number, will be here tomorrow.

It appears the problem is with Canon and not B&H (or the other retailers). Apparently Canon shipped many more kits than bodies only in this first found...more than likely to try and push the 24-105 to the early adopters. More body only shipments will appear next week.

How do you get free next day shipping? When I went to the cart next day to San Diego was over $90. I'm afraid to change my order from Amazon because I have $4 next day shipping from Amazon with prime.

My body only order from B&H has shipped as well. Expected delivery is Monday via UPS two-day shipping. Order # was 528xx.

Darn I was too late!

While I ordered the 1DX, seeing the recent pictures from the 5DmkIII convince me I should get it as well as my second, smaller body (really liked ISO and colors rendition of some recent review) so when I saw this OP I did not have my credit card with me. By the time I got back home and try ordering they were out of stock!

I guess I will have to wait for next shipment :-\ :-[
