As people start receiving their 5D Mark III shipments, it might be interesting to see what serial numbers we see. Will they be "1's" and "2's"? Will they be "1's" and "2's"with a white dot? Will they be "3's" or some other numbering system? Will we be able to differentiate between cameras pulled by Canon and fixed, cameras that are fixed during their normal fab cycle and cameras that are fixed when sent in to an authorized repair center? Personally, I returned my camera last week and I'm going to sit tight until the end of the month when I'll buy it back and get a double-up rebate lens to boot. I owned the camera for three weeks and thought it was fantastic, however, I was worried that the light leak issue would cause problems if I ever decided to sell it in the future (mirrorless cameras are coming). Why take the chance, I can wait another three weeks.

You probably will have to wait for another 3 months before you can receive one, if you order today. If I were you, I would order now to get in line.

You can get one when you start looking places other than B&H, Adorama, and Amazon. Since it came out, I purchased two 5DM3 kits (both returned for various reasons, including the light leak) from a small online reputable retailer.
