Wasn't too happy to see the rubber grip material on my camera (not the vertical grip) coming unglued tonight. I've shot 20+ weddings on it, and have no major complaints aside from this. Anyone experiencing the same thing?

Not good but hopefully covered by warranty.

I've noticed on my 5d3 that sometimes the body molding/covering feels loose( moves ever so slightly) when my thumb puts pressure on it...almost as if the body covering isn't attached to the body as well as it should be. Seeing your pictures makes me think i have the same problem as you do, but just not as bad or advanced.

Edit - As i look at your first picture again i realize that that is the same spot where my thumb senses some movement of the body covering.

Ask canon if they will send you a replacement. You can peel off the old one and apply the new. The covers are peeled away when servicing a camera, and usually can be re-applied. A touch of contact glue would secure it as well.

It happens on some cameras (like my current 5Dc). Just treat it like a wound, and DONT PICK AT IT. ;D

I spoke with CPS, and they are going to take the camera in under warranty and fix it. I have two dead pixels as well, so I guess its better to just have them service the entire camera. I know I could glue the grip back myself, or just ignore it, but on a new camera, that just doest cut it for me.

My 5dII and 1dIII have 10x the miles and are holding up just fine.....Wish I could say the same about my 5D3.

Please let us know how this turned out. The rubber on the bottom of my 5DMIII started to peel off yesterday. I definitely want to send it in for repair as well if it becomes worse.
