The Henry's camera chain in Canada is having a clearance sale and the 6D is listed......

Strangely enough, neither the 60D or the 7D are listed as clearance items...

Gentlemen, start the rumour-mongering :)

Forget the clearance sale of the 6D from Henrys.
Lets look at the huge price drop from when it was introduced, compare all prices now from all stores versus when it was introduced @ $2099.

Replacement coming or not?

Probably in about two years.

Why do you think that? And, why not sooner?

I mean, yeah sure... its FF but... its cheap...
Unless, you think the price will go back up after boxing week/month.
If they are planning on releasing a 7D Mark 2 (or something similar), how can they price the mark 2 over the 6D?

Henrys is interesting. I started buying from them last year because I don't travel to the U.S. as much for work. This year, I went to do some more shopping online and noticed their selection has been drastically decreased. If you look at their bag selection, for example, they don't carry many of the models that I would consider "normal" models. I just searched for a long-lens bag and came up with nothing.

Maybe their clearance sale is to significantly decrease the value of their inventory costs (they might just have too much $$$ tied up in the clearance items).

My opinion is that they are hurting from online competition. They no longer carry high end products in store and prices are high. You expect to pay twenty percent more for the convenience of shopping in store....

I just find the last add interesting as it called the 6D clearance, but not the 60D??? And the 6D is a good selling item.....

they do this every year as there year end is in late Jan or early Feb. They sell off old and non selling products to ensue they get rid of stock and meet there commitment numbers for bonus I am sure but this is only my opinion not fact.

Yes.

Probably in about two years.

Doubtful. Although the 6D is a pro body, it is mostly marketed as a step-up for Rebel users who want to move to full frame. The Rebel line changes approximately annually. Based on that, I'd expect the 6D line to have a similar upgrade interval, or at worst, only a little slower. Otherwise, by the end of a three-year upgrade period, they would have people choosing to upgrade from the 6D back to a Rebel because of extra features in the Rebel line.

There are already some people considering upgrading from the 7D to the 70D because the 7D is so long in the tooth. IMO, if Canon is paying attention, they won't be eager to repeat that mistake with the 6D. (With that said, I half expect Canon to fold the 7D and 6D together into a high-MP full-frame body in 2014, which would explain why they haven't bothered to upgrade the 7D.)

As for the clearance sale, though, as others have indicated, that doesn't say much about the update schedule. In my experience, clearance sales quite frequently indicate that a seller was being too severely undercut by online resellers and wants to lower their price, but doesn't want to make people mad who bought it at the higher price. To solve that problem, they put it on "clearance sale" (a.k.a. a "we're overstocked" sale) for a few weeks at the lower price. By the time that sale goes off, everyone has forgotten the original (too high) price, so they are free to raise the price to something in between.

You can't compare a 5D mark 3 to a 6D... or can you?
I thought the 6D was like a consumer version like the Rebels... replaced every year.

Well then, the 6D II is already 4 months late...and counting.

Exceptionally unlikely. High MP full frame paired with good AF will be a 'merger' of the 6D and 7D is in the sense that it will cost at least as much as the 6D and 7D combined. A camera like that would come in above the 5DIII in the lineup, and may well only be available as a 1-series.
