So i decided to make a jump to FF and settled on 6D, especially because I want something that's good in low light and the price is reasonable, however I was told by a pro that "the future is mirrorless", so does anyone know of something comparable in terms of low light, full frame, quality and price?

thanks

Let's deal with future in the future. The 6D fits all your requirements so you should get it. If you are willing to look beyond Canon you may consider sony a7 series. A used a7 cost less than $1000. But lens selection is limited.

I have a 6D and recently bought a A7. The A7 was returned for a refund, so that is my short answer!

If you have a chance to actually try them in a store, then that would be a good idea as they are very different. If you get the 6D with a 24-105mm kit lens, it is much larger and heavier. That is about the only advantage I found with the A7. The Sony kit lens is pretty bad - quite soft away from the center. Big advantage to Canon. While some Electronic Viewfinders (EVF) are pretty good (the Olympus OM-D, for example) I thought the Sony EVF was a bit dark outdoors. If you like an optical viewfinder, then advantage Canon.
