700D card advice please

I picked up a 700D body at an auction this week. Just thought it would be fun to try out as a spare body.

Looks immaculate but won't format a card. Any ideas please?

It was cheap enough for me to not lose sleep over but equally, would be nice to get it going.

Format the card with a computer and see if the camera has any life at all.

Does the card have its write-protect switch set?

Thanks for the replies guys. I tried 3 cards, all the same. I will try to format one on the computer shortly.
