Many of us are still patiently awaiting the much anticipated new 7D firmware update that was posted here a few weeks ago. Any news of this actually happening anyone? Thank you.

I wonder also if the announcement of new firmware implies anything about the eventual 7D successor or lack thereof.
Isn't it a little unusual for Canon to do this major a firmware update? Usually they just put out bug fixes.
It almost seems like Canon plans to run the 7D as a companion for the 5D3 for a while yet. Is this a plausible assumption?
