7d mark ii strange sound.HELP!

Hello everyone.

I just got my 7d mark ii and I noticed there's a sound in the pop up flash module when I turn the camera from landscape to portrait. It sound like something is moving from side to side. But when I pop the flash up and turn the camera from side to side (landscape to portrait), the noise is gone.

Is this something to worry about, or is this common for the 7d mark ii?

Good afternoon dear friend and a happy new year.
Same thing here and to another four 7D Mk2's of my friends out of five in total (result=5/5). It's just the spring of the pop-up flash moving freely when you shake the camera or change holding position for portrait/landscape-type shooting. If you press the flash open, the sound stops as the spring becomes loaded. Nothing to worry about as it also happened with my 7D MkI and my 600D.

Be lucky, be wealthy, healthy and happy.
All my best wishes for the new year for you and all your beloved souls.
Yiannis.

This makes no sense at all. If the spring isn't loaded with flash down then it wouldn't pop up. There may be something else that doesn't have pressure when flash is down but it won't be the spring. I've never had or even seen a camera make a noise when tilted. I would send it in for repair.

Mine does the same thing I think its one or both of those metal rails on either side you see when the flash is popped up that may have just a tad of play when closed. It's barely noticeable unless you're in a quiet room and even then I don't notice it. Doesn't seem to affect the camera in any way and the flash operates normally though I never use it. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it but if it bothers you or is unusually loud I suppose you can send it in. :D

I just held mine up to my ear and can hear a little noise which I was guess is the rails. It is so faint I would have never noticed it if I wasn't trying to hear it. Wouldn't worry about it unless it was loud and easy to hear.

Coincidentally I was in a quiet room when I noticed it. And it is very faint. The pop up flash works properly, even though I never use it anyway. I just wanted to make sure it was an issue that, if ignored, it would become a bigger problem later (i.e. after my warranty expire). Thank you'll for the feedback!
