7D MK II on Canon Direct as refurbished for $1199

That's overpriced for a refurb when new ones have been under $1100 recently. $1200 seems to be the current price for a new one.

I'm a bit shy of the refurb bodies, there were apparently a lot of buyers who returned their cameras for focusing issues, and some claim that Canon was unable to fix the issues. You do have 14 day return rights on a refurb, so be prepared to spend the necessary time doing AFMA and test shooting in that 10 days. After that, its under warranty, you pay to ship it to Canon after going thru their 20 minute question try this and try that routine, it can be enough to make you scream if its like my experience.

Where are you finding a new USA warranty 7D II for $1,100? Grey market price is over $1,200. CPW street price is $1,350. There is a printer bundle for $1,600 that includes a $350 rebate, but you have to apply for the rebate and the rebate comes in the form of a pre-loaded credit card, not cash or check. That's still $1,250.

The price periodically drops on these, as I said, its currently around $1200 for a gray market, but it will drop again. The $1100 was for gray market, not US. There is also a risk of getting a bad product, but you have a new camera in a Canon box, not used.

All I am saying is that in my opinion, $1200 for a used 7D MK II is over priced. As we approach the holidays, prices are going to drop. Typically, sales happen near the end of the month when dealers need to boost their monthly sales.

There are only 420 in stock, down from 500+, so they are selling.

I have not seen a post from someone who bought one, so I'm curious. I have bought refurbs several times, only once getting a camera that did not work right. Getting it replaced was a exercise in futility, I talked with numerous people at Canon before they finally sent the replacement.

Even better: 5DII for $2,099.
good luck with the 9AF points lol

I only need one. I've had all of the 1 series cameras except the 1D X and most of the crop bodies, but seldom have to resort to off center AF points.

Some find them useful, even necessary, but belittling those who do not need them is unnecessary.

It should have read 5dIII anyway. I think the 5DII's have been out of stock in refurbs for a while now.
