Adorama "open box" deals, anyone had issues in past with this?

Reason I ask is I was looking at the 6D as a second body with the 24-105mm, and I wonder if anyone has bought 'open box' from Adorama recently and had equipment been used when it's not supposed to be, damaged, scratched
etc. As I read it from them, the open box is supposed to be equipment that is basically new, worn packaging maybe, or been shown in store, not ever sold and returned.....or am I getting this wrong? Any inside help would be helpful, thanks.

Some say its a way to get around Canon's MAP Pricing. That said, in a busy warehouse, its easy to damage boxes from time to time, and Adorama can then sell new items for below MAP price.

I've never heard a complaint.

Bought one a couple months ago without a hitch. It wasn't perfectly packed as if from Canon directly but the glass was pristine.

Adorama has a 30 day return policy, which should also apply to 'open box' items ... so, you can check it out and see what you get. Plus, Helen will see you are treated right. She always takes good care of Adorama customers

I have never dealt with Helen, but based on my experience Adorama takes care of their customers if there is a problem.

My 24mm TS-E 3.5L II was open box from Adorama. It was perfect when I got it and still is.

Now, maybe, they will have a scratched 5d-III in the showroom and sell it to me...!

The only "flaw" in the 14mm f/2.8 that I can find is a scuff on the box. Lens was pristine and came with all the original paperwork and wrapping. Go for it!
