Anyone buy the 24-70mm in the last month?

I want to get this lens but their QC department is really preventing me from biting the bullet since getitng burned last December.

I was wondering if anyone have gotten a copy in the last month from Amazon or B&H and had any issues? Just a refresh, most common problem was the clicking issue. But when I got (3 in total) my copies in December/January, it not only had clicking issue on the zoom ring but on one copy the focus ring wasnt smooth.

Really want to pick this lens up while its still the double dip rebate.

I went through five copies of the lens. I don't think much has changed with the clicking; chances are you will still get one that clicks unless you're extremely lucky. My suggestion is buy one, and get an extended warranty. That way you can just use it, and if there ever is a problem with it down the road you can just have it replaced or fixed.

Not sure if this is helpful but I got it Dec 2013 from AMAZON and my copy was optically great and no clicking or focus ring issues.

I bought one at the beginning of the year from Buy.com (For $1599 net after the $300 discount). It had an 08/2013 date and was click free.

I bought the 2.8 ii a month ago. 100% perfect. No issues. Great iq. Stunning sharpness
