I've seen a bunch of these weird postings show up all over Amazon lately. In fact, tonight I saw this lens in "Very Good" condition listed for $800, so I bought it immediately. Soon afterwards, I got a notice via Amazon that my order had been cancelled due to "Technical Difficulties."

Now, the same seller has the lens listed at $10!

I'm not sure how long it will stay up because I'm calling shenanigans on the whole thing, and I'm sure Amazon will catch up if it's truly fishy. I've always had good experiences with Amazon when their sellers have been dodgy because they manage all the money flow and immediately have refunded my payments from shifty sellers.

Has anyone had experiences with these sorts of things?

Thanks in advance!

In my long career of buying and selling on the internet and Craigslist it's always a scam if the seller lists there email and says contact me before buying. You usually can google the email address and see postings all over with bogus pricing and incorrect details about items.

In general if it sounds too good to be true it is. Honestly even $1000 is ridiculously cheap for an 85LII (provided it's in at least good condition), the cheapest I've ever seen them used is around $1500, avg is probably $1600-$1800. I have to say it's absolutely worth the money even at $1800.
