A Oldie but goodie. I picked up one today from a local Photographer who had it listed on Craigslist. The lens has a little dust in it, and a couple of tiny paint scratches, but is working well so far. Its 6pm here, buut i had to snap a couple of images just to see how they came out.
Standing on my deck, I used my 1D MK III to snap images at 35mm, and at 350mm of the same bunch of flowers. It is reasonably sharp, not like a prime, but more than adequate.
For $500, I'm very happy with it. One disadvantage is the relative long MFD, which prevents getting close ups of smaller items. The 100-400mm does let you get close, but its not 10X.
