Canon has delayed the next EOS R5 Mark II shipments by potentially 6 months.

Perhaps tits because of he revenue from the affiliate links? No cameras for people to buy through the links after seeing a review video, so why post a video that is no longer interesting when the cameras finally do arrive? Just a thought..

And while I can enjoy some Norwegian Vodka that is absolutely amazing, made with potatoes. When I’m in need of some extra chest hair I break out a bottle of Laphroaig, sickest whisky there is.
Laphroaig is one of my favourites, it's peaty taste is amazing.

I noticed a new menu item: “limit continuous shot count”: https://cam.start.canon/en/C017/manual/html/UG-09_Custom_0030.html#Custom_0030_3

I think setting that to ‘3’ might do what you want.
Thanks for the feedback, koenkooi.

I had already seen this in the menus for the R5m2 and it was the only way I could limit the servo mode to 3 frames to do an exposure bracket in full electronic shutter mode.

I asked about how to do this on the R5, not the R5m2. I noticed my R5 firmware wasn't the last, so I installed the latest R5 firmware. I scanned the options to load into the user new * folders, and there was no entry for "Limit continuous shot count" (as there is in the R5m2). (I noticed that the link you provided was for the R5m2 (not R5) manual)

So, either there is no way to do this on the R5, or I just need to know how to navigate the R5 menu to find some hidden option to do it.
(I'm interested in this since I'll probably keep my R5 alongside my R5m2)

I ordered 2 weeks after the announcement and spoke to them around the 1st week of August to sort of get an idea what the likelihood was of getting one. All they said at the time was there were a few hundred in front of me in the queue but couldn’t give an exact figure. At that time I was told they hadn’t been told by Canon UK that the camera was getting released on 20th August, or how many they were getting allocated.

Have tried with both my local store and contacting their main sales number on website to find out more since camera released with no real info apart from they have more on order.

Wex has no idea when they're going to get more, Canon UK isn't telling them anything. They aren't too happy about it.

Just collected my R5ii from the local WEX store - it was delivered there on 20 Aug to await my return from Seattle - I had ordered within minutes of its going online. I was a bit worried as I was getting automated e-mails that it would be returned if not collected in 7 days. The assistant said it was only the second one passing through the shop.

Ardbeg is even "sicker"! But also very tasty, I find it even more complex in taste than the also great Laphroig. Heavily peated malts are a drink many hate, unfortunately, this has no incidence on the price.
I shouldn't say it as a Frenchie, but there's more variety of taste and flavour in malts than in cognacs.
No, I won't say I prefer malts to cognac.
I'll just write it...;)

I don't want to create e new topic just for this - so could anyone confirm it to me?

I my old A7R IV, when focusing, I could use the central focus point and when I pressed AF-ON, it would lock the focus on that subject (not necessarily a person, or car, or something recognizable by the camera). Once locked, I could simply recompose and the camera would automatically move the focus point to whatever was closed but keep it locked. Not sure I I'm making sense, I can try to find a video to explain.

I was just wondering - does this tracking works the same with Canon bodies? I think Sony calls it real time tracking and Nikon has it as 3D.

Here's what Im talking about: https://youtu.be/pn0fh4XHpLY?t=192

I'm just getting up to speed on the R5m2. I found a way that I could shoot fully electronic shutter with a 3 shot exposure bracket (quickly in servo mode) in Manual for each exposure button press (and that I could turn on or off a generated sound to mimic the shutter).

I never found a way to do this on my R5 since in (full electronic shutter) servo mode it wouldn't stop taking shots after the desired 3. If anyone knows how to make this work on a R5 then let me know.
You must use Elec. 1st curtain on the R5 for exposure bracketing not full electronic. One of the R5 limitations happily removed with the R5ii.

Yes, that's what I've had to do all this time. I just thought that I may have missed something and how great it would be if I had. But at least I know that the elec-1st curtain is the best I can do if I want to do an exposure bracket on my (still in use) R5.

EDIT: Yes, I'm glad the R5m2 can finally do a simple 3 exposure bracket while using fully electronic shutter (it's about time!)
But I do get frustrated at some of their menu decisions. Organizing multiple user Star Folder menu items and reorder them as needed is a true disaster. But "what we can't fix, we go around".

I wonder how many people gave up and bought the 100-500L instead, perhaps with a TC to go along?

Or switched to Sony or Nikon for their zoom lenses that go to 800mm. ;)
Sony or Nikon have never been an option, at least for the past 40 years and I don't see that changing any time soon.

But I did grab the 100-500 and a 1.4 to hold me over. Plus I found a good recipe for a cake if I don't receive mine by Nov 2024 and I only need to buy one candle.
