Meh, The G10 is much better than my HD camcorder, but I want something that will take L lenses. I guess that would be too consumer un-friendly.

Get a T2i/550D. It'll take all the L lenses you want, is mighty cheap (cheaper than the G10 for the T2i+EF-S 18-200), and mighty portable. Otherwise, don't complain.

Who said I was complaining?

There are still disadvantages to DSLR video. I am very interested and may jump on a 5D mk iii, but I have to consider other things... like getting XLR inputs (like juicedlink), at least one decent microphone, camera stabilization, follow focus, an LCD View Finder or monitor, and a rig to hold it all. That drives up the cost an extra $1250 or more.
