Has anybody seen that on the EOS camera page on Canons USA website that the M3 is in a separate spot now with a heading "EOS M Series Digital Cameras". Looks like they might be gearing up for more. Just thought I'd point that out.
It's certainly possible, the internal diameter of the EF-M mount is larger than it is for Leica M or Sony FE. Full frame works for them. See dimensions at https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_mount.
There are lots of possibilities out there. If Canon have the sense to build in their EVF, then I will be keen to jump on board.
When it first came out, someone asked the Canon Tech Guru if the M could ever be FF and he said it wasn't possible.
Canon gives a new model designator whenever a significant change happens. They have patented a new mount and several other pieces pointing to a FF mirrorless, but patents may never happen.
