Canon’s speciality camera the ME20F-SH (it really rolls off the tongue) is now available for preorder. It’s also $10,000 cheaper than it was when it was launched at the end of July. In case you’ve forgotten, this <a href="http://www.canonrumors.com/canons-first-ultra-high-sensitivity-multi-purpose-camera-features-iso-equivalent-of-over-4000000/" target="_blank">camera is capable of shooting at ISO 4,000,000</a>.</p>

At the rate it is coming down in price I will be able to afford it by 2018. When will the 250MP camera have the 4M ISO? Will that be ultimate 35mm based camera sensor? I guess there is still that dynamic range thing that can continue to improve.

250MP and 4mISO, this will never come, would Need more tha 100% sensor efficiency, which can not be.

4'000'000 ISO at 2MP corresponds to
500'000 ISO at 16MP, which can be done in post for stills, by underexposing 3 stops, pushing and downsampling in post.

This is for stills, but for movie, on other camery it's not downsampled or Pixel binned, but lines are skipped and somehow interpolated.

so for stills this cam is maybe 1 stop better, for filming it must be amazing wished i had this one for filming northern lights. But still, for me it seems completely overpriced, except they estimate the market for a real 2MP Full HD cam to only 100 pieces.

But for me what would be more exciting would be a 1'000'000 4k cam, there should be Software to downsample this in post to HD.... to get some of 4'000'000 ISO back
