Canon Shipping 5D Mark III Bodies - Any rumors?

I placed an order with B&H April 4rth and I have no idea when I will get this camera because Canon is not providing any information about shipments.

So far I have probed B&H about shipments without any results.

I have read the following news, but not from Canon.

If you search Google for "Canon suspends 5D Mark III shipping" there are 378 links!

BUT NOTHING OFFICIAL FROM CANON! What a shame, no respect for their clients!!!!!!!!!

When will they start shipping again???

I have just this morning been told by Calumet that Canon have told them shipping bodies Mid May once they have sorted light leak problem.

If they're working on the light leak "issue", then maybe you'll have to wait until whenever this "issue" is resolved. Can they give you a date? No, because if they do, and don't deliver, you guys will start whining again. Why did this all start? Because of whining over an "issue".

And the problem is we're still not hearing anything from people who ordered on march 8,9,..
It seems I'm not getting my order till end of may!!!
I should've ordered from adorama from day 1 !!!!!

That would be even worse. A company like Canon listening to wining? Nope, like any company, they take decisions based on profit margin and image. I am sure there is an issue otherwise they would have done nothing.

Now they have to be more responsive and line up the production facility quickly to fix what is wrong and get cameras shipped before many frustrated clients (like me) jump boat.

You should be able to send yours back by May 10th. I assume that they plan to finish fixing their current stock at their factories and shipped by May 10th so they can start working on the old bodies..

So I conclude that we should see cameras at the stores by May!! So if you pre-ordered your camera after aprox march 10th. You will have to wait until May 10th so that is two month delay!! :'(

Ugh, OTOH some dealers said they expected shipments in a few days.
I guess we will see.

With all of the important things that could be fixed up on the 5D3 it seems a colossal shame and waste that this what they have to spend time and money fixing.
