I took this one before the holidays to print christmas cards (which unfortunately did not arrive in time — better start early next year). We put a string of fairy lights into some cotton wool and struggled to keep both cats on set. There is a speedlight in a 120 cm octabox camera right, with power dialed down so the fairy lights would remain visible. In retrospect I should have stopped down more and raised the ISO to have both kittens' faces in focus.
EOS R6, EF100L, 1/180s, f/5.6, ISO 800.

The BSH was sitting on the window sill and saw a bird in a tree.
EOS R6, RF100-400 @135mm, 1/500s, f/13, ISO 6400.

I had a Raynox DCR250 on the lens. With this combination I tend to put the R6 in crop mode since any focal length shorter than 400mm has severe vignetting.
With crop mode enabled I try to mitigate the risk of framing too tightly.
While the EF100L + Raynox makes for much sharper images, the combination with the RF100-400 gives me up to 3x magnification at 400mm.

Great close up

We recently adopted a pair of 4 month old kittens. Lots of fun! Both of them are very polydactyl.

(Yes, I did just use nearly $10K worth of camera gear to take cat pics to post on the internet o_O .)

If you get a chance, and it's convenient, I'd love to see those feet/paws playing with something!
