Cleaning lens recommendations

I did a search on this site and was suprised not to find much about cleaning .
If I have missed a big discussion, please direct me.
So what are people using for cleaning sea water splash's/rain/dust etc ?

What I do on my L lenses when there's salt of debris stuck on them: extremely carefully run tap water over the front element to dissolve/dislodge things. Let it dry completely. Then a soft brush and a blower to get rid of the remaining debris. And when no debris is visible anymore, then I use a microfibres cloth.

The running water bit makes me very nervous, but so far no ill effects!

Thanks for all suggestions.
Koenkool, using demineralised water would leave less of a residue on the glass. I know this as one of my bicycles is a dark colour and my drinking bottle leaves splashes on the frame. I need to use a calcium remover every few weeks to clean it.

I saw an ad for this - including a carbon lens pen - and overall looks good and cheap:
