If that price is correct then it represents an increase of over £1000 over the High Street price of the 5D MkII I think that's going to put quite a few buyers off. 3000 Eur might be a little more realistic, and what's happened to the fps rate? lower than the rumoured spec which was close to 7

Can anyone remember/know how the previous few pro Canon cameras were announced?

Do they really need a lot of lead time, or need to announce invites, if they've sent secret ones? As it's later in the week, could they make a pretty snap announcement on the product?

Just some info - one of the posts there mentions that initially it has been written "nouvelle (new) batterie LP-E6" and afterwards the word new has been edited. Don't know if this changes anything

Let us hope that's the Kit Price.

I just check Amazon.de and these are the price of the 5D2:

Body Only: €1.778,60
w/24-105: €2.549,90
w/24-70 : €2.916,99

Releasing the 5DIII at almost double the street price of the 5D2 is nothing short of suicide.

I started doubting that CR guy have made
some contracts with B&H, Adorama and others for publicity
passing over the discussions in the forum and the site, and
he knows-knew that the date of the announcement isn't very near,
so he could profit some more frome this.

More people watch the publicity - more money.
