Same thing will be true with the 1Dx, Nikon D4 and D800. Every raw file is unique by the manufacture so adobe has to update their software for support. Too bad they all can't settle on a type of format for RAW files. Also, Adobe will likely NEVER release an update for Lightroom 3 for any of these cameras. Once a new version is out, they require you to upgrade to work with new cameras. Adobe Camera Raw in photoshop will only work with these cameras if you have CS5 as well, and it doesn't work yet. Look out for an upgrade for both photoshop and lightroom in the coming 2-3 weeks.

It's a release candidate version but is very close to final version.
Quote from Adobe: A "release candidate" label indicates that this update is well tested but would benefit from additional community testing before it is distributed automatically to all of our customers.
Until the ACR 6.7 is released, I think if you guys convert your CR2 file to DNG when you import then into LR4 it should work. You can copy your original CR2 file somewhere else for future reference if required.
I have not tried this not having the 5DmkIII but it should work.
