So a few weeks ago I was reading a thread that it would be difficult for a dslr to have autofocus yet doesn't the new T4i have continuous video autofocus? If the T4i has it why couldn't the 5DM3? Anyways, any tips on how to keep focus with moving objects when shooting? I can try to manually focus but on the little screen it is very difficult to see if you are actually in focus. Do folks use a larger external screen or do you not shoot video on your 5dm3 when there are moving objects? I am trying to figure out how to shoot my kids soccer game and zoom in and out during the video shoot and retain focus. Thanks

The verdict is still out on the t4I continuous AF during video... Most pros using the 5d3 for video tends to use pro focus gears where the scenes are scripted, they mark on the gear the start and stop focus for each scene, and manually focus to those points in filming, just like they do on pro movie cameras. If you are hoping to film kids running around, good luck and use a low aperture to get as much in focus as possible. As far as continuous AF, it's probably a tad quicker than manually focusing but it probably doesn't mean there wont be some hunting, some abnormalities where it focuses on the wrong subject, etc... Shoot if servo AF isn't 100% all the time for stills, I dont have high hopes for video.
