EF 20mm f/2.8 USM update?

Do you think that Canon will update the EF 20mm f/2.8 USM?

I'd love to see an updated 20mm with IS, but with the 24 and 28mm getting updates in 2012, and the development of RF lenses (not sure if they're even developing new ef lenses), it seems unlikely?

No, it is not profitable at all. If they came out with any kind of new wide-angle EF lens, that would be a 20mm f/1.4L - as they've already made a CN-E one for their cinema cameras. But the RF-mount enables much better wide-angle lens designs, so that's where they are going to do one as time goes on and they will make their primes faster than f/2.8 (unless it is a pancake) and rely on the future bodies with IBIS as well.

Sigma has you covered if you dare to do 3rd party and the weight
Unfortunately I dare not...
Focusing issues, weight and size !
I'm looking for a lens like the Nikkor 1,8/20, but already own the 21 mm Zeiss (large and heavy, no AF, but real good).
Anyway, the 16-35 f.4 is my usual companion.

The 16-35 f4 is one reason that a new 20mm f2.8 is unlikely in my opinion. I have a 28mm f2.8 IS, It is a good lens, but I haven't used it much at all since since I got the 16-35 f4. If the 16-35 had been on the market, I wouldn't have bought the 28.

I use mine (28 IS) whenever I need a small lens with a real good IQ (streets, pubs, etc.).
It's also good for discreet photography on the EOS R, used with the back-screen tilted in horizontal position.
But otherwise, 16-35/f.4 !!!
