What lens would be a good environmental portrait lens. I am shooting Crop Sensor (for the time being) and want a good lens for environmental portraits. I would love to invest in a 35mm 1.4L But just don't see that any time soon.

What would you reccommend?

I just got rid of it... I got a 70-200 2.8L IS for it and that is more appropriate for the weddings I have been shooting. But I just booked several portrait sessions and now want wide again... I guess I needed the 16-35 more then I thought...

Agree with the 24mm f1.4L II. I have this lens and it provides great speed and excellent subject isolation (or integration) depending on aperture. On the crop body this will give you wide without being too wide (distortion).
