I rarely see Painted Trilliums here, but at a local Pitch Pine Bog my wife and I came across around a dozen scattered about at various stages of bloom.
Most were not accessible, and I was not pleased with the few shot I got on Friday.
So Saturday, we dashed off again but could only find a half dozen, most excessively withered. One however was standing proud

Here is a crop of the blossom.

At the bog we usually hunt down Pink Lady Slippers in June. We found about 15 of these this past weekend. As far as we are concerned, a bumper crop.
