Gitzo Mountaneer 3542 tripod bag

Hi

Just got a Gitzo 3542 Mountaneer tripod and thus looking for a simple, not fancy and lightweight bag. It should offer a minimun of padding.

The brand's bags are ridiculously expensive I think. For my previous Gitzo (1542T) I had a benro bag. DOes anyone know for example which benro bag woud fit the GT3542?

thx!

Tenba makes nice gear bags fro travel... padded and such. I use their bags for grips and stands (padded tripak). They have nice tripod bags but never used one.

Thx, It looks like the kind of stuff i'm looking for. However the shortest one I could see is 32 inches in lenght, a bit longer than what I need, closer to 23 or 24 inches

I use the GT3542LS with a Wemberly 200 gimbal mount. I also have a separate adjustable center column with a ball head to convert it to a Mountaineer. Depending where I'm going and what I'm shooting I swap the center sections. I was also looking for a lower cost/lighter bag. Given the carbon fiber legs I landed up just going with the Gitzo bag to give them an additional degree of protection. I'm glad I did. Last winter I was on the AT in the snow. I slipped and fell about 5' and my 200#s landed on the tripod bag. If I'd had a non-padded bag I'm sure I would have had to replace one or two legs. If you're concerned about the added weight or bulk of a bag just use a sling and forget the bag.

RRS' quiver bags are excellent. For their 2-series tripods, which are similar to the Gitzo 3-series, it looks like the Small Tripod Bag TQB-64 would be the right size (I use it for my monopod+head).

thanks for the advice, though still expensive for a bag, those are half the price of the gitzo's brand. I've asked their tech support whereas one I chose would fit my tripod.
