How much do used body prices drop when refreshed? Like R6 MKII -> MKIII?

I ask because I'm considering trading up to an R7, but not at the prices it's running at now.

Do you think the R7 MKII will drop the used R7 MKI price, when a whole bunch of R7 shooters upgrade and sell them off all at once? By how much?

Has this happened with other bodies in the past? It doesn't look like the R6 MKII dropped that much, but I haven't been watching the market for long.

I suspect relatively few people upgrade incrementally within a line. The target market for the R6III is likely owners of 6-series DSLRs, the R6 and R, and APS-C users. That’s consistent with the R6III launch not resulting in a lot of R6II bodies hitting the used market.

Eh. I saw a few wildlife YouTubers who adore their R7s say they’re going to upgrade immediately. And commenters agreed.

That’s what gave me pause, and made me think this could be different? It's not like R6 MKII users are dissatisfied, but bird shooters and such might have more drive to upgrade their aging R7 to the much higher end R7 MKII, and the financial hit won’t be as extreme as the R6.

But the R6 upgrade cycle is the only one I’ve seen. I was wondering if there was maybe a closer precedent to this.
