this was just dumb... gluing the lens coat to the lens and then violently removing it.

Nah, just a bunch of bushwhacking and clamboring through shrubbery. I got mine used and it was already scratched up so I just haven't bothered trying to baby it. Besides, I kinda dig the grizzled, wartorn look.
