ISO 50 produces cleaner shadows?

On both my 6d and 5dii ISO 50 had cleaner shadows than ISO 100. Any explanation for this? Thanks in advance.

ISO 50 is really ISO 100 pulled a stop in-camera. Anytime you reduce exposure in post (even in-camera), you reduce shadow noise.
