I have a Kenco 3xTC which was marketed as for manual use but it works in AF on the R5 as well as in liveview on some DSLR bodies. As it was a reasonably clear winter's night and half moon, I paired it with a 2xTCIII on a 400mm DO II on the R5 and took a shot at 2400mm, f/24, 1/125s iso 1600. Vanilla DxOPL4 plus Clearview to enhance contrast. I had to downsize by a factor of 3 to upload! A couple of full-sized crops included. A challenge to the 800 f/11!

Well done. Nice detail considering the amount of TC you used. Bet you used remote shutter and some sturdy support. Of course, no need for mirror lock-up anymore.

Did you use electronic or mechanical shutter?

Thanks! No remote shutter or lock up, just EFCS. I used a simple Manfrotto tripod with a not particularly stable head, just steadied by my hand against my eye as I took some high speed bursts using the evf and chose the sharpest. From experience I know that at 1/125s there will be some sharp shots.

Nice! It sure looks cold and desolate there. I always appreciate the non-full moon pics like this the most. I think it gives the moon some shape. Again, very nice!
