Is it not possible to import images taken with the 5d3 shot in MRAW to lightroom 4? I tried it and it said that the ff. images are shot in a camera with a RAW format that is not supported by LR4. i checked for any updates with my LR4 and it seems that my version of LR4 is updated. Is there a fix for this or something I can do to import this? Or am I doing something wrong?

It's not really a "trial", it's an almost-finalised (in theory, at least) version of Lr, released in order for users to shake out any final show-stopper bugs not caught by Adobe's testing - hence RC ("Release Candidate").

When Lr 4.1 final is released, the RC will prompt you about the new version next time you open it, and you can then update to the finalised version.

As an aside, I can't find anything definitive about 5D Mk III mRaw/sRaw support in Lr 4.1 RC2.

I got the LR4 RC, used it for a day, and uninstalled it due to glitches and stability issues. Instead I found a link on the John Nack blog for DNG 7.1 RC which gives you the perfect pre-LR4 workflow for your 5D3 files. Stay with LR4.0 for the time being.

LR4 is a shameless resource hog, you'll notice a big slowdown after LR 3.6. So the workaround is to convert to DNG in DNG 7.1, be SURE to check the "fast-load" option and then have a smoother ride in LR4. There is no difference whether you have shot RAW mRAW or sRAW. Just do the DNG thing, make it a permanent part of your workflow and you'll be a happy camper.

Just to let you know I had the same problem with S, M and full Raw even with LR4 RC2 and someone suggested I use a card reader instead of downloading direct from the camera and that did the trick. For whatever reason I still cannot download direct from the camera to LR4 RC2.
Good luck

Is the DNG 7.1 a seperate program or do I have to get CS6 to make it work?

I have been using a SanDisk card reader to transfer files and have not encountered a problem after I downloaded LR4 RC2 . I have yet to try transferring from the camera.

DNG 7.1 is a standalone. Get it here. http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw7-1/
