Need Help - Compatible? - Tamron Telephoto Lens 572d AF 70-300mm lens

Hi All,

I am totally a newbie here and need some help, my friend is buying a new camera and has an old Sony Alpha 100. She also has a Tamron telephoto lens (572d AF 70-300mm) and was wondering if this lens is compatible with the new Canon 5D Mark III.

If it were compatible then her parents can save the money on the tele-lens (and will be more willing to chip in on buying the camera for her photography work, also she can get a good camera instead of a Sony).

If its not compatible, are there any sort of lens convertors that she can get?

If the Tamron was previously used on the Sony, it would mean that its a Sony mount, so no, unfortunately it would not mount on a Canon body


There MIGHT be adaptors available, but not sure how good/how useful
