New 1D X Sample Images

Thank you for posting these. 12,800 doesn't blow my mind, but it is quite a dark image.

The more I see the more I scratch my head. Applies to both 1dx and #3. Damn.
Since the IQ is similar on both camera's I will go for the 1dx: At least the ratio of lost photos will be less and the 12fps will help me with my wildlife stuff.
Sometimes I so wish I had not bought such a huge amount of Canon lenses...

Please oh please just fucking wait for some real world samples and reviews. You are like idiots judging two unreleased cars based oj what the spec sheets say. Some manufacturers wreck the synchromesh getting from 0-62, some don't.

The camera is as good as released, it is announced and around the corner. It is not in the development stage but at manufacturing..

I agree. It's not amazing but it also looks underexposed. I'm trying to figure out why Canon would post it as a sample.

Sometimes you need to underexpose for the feel of very dark environment. I'm not saying that the chosen exposure was the best for this shot, however other reasons for the fact that exposure compensation was set to -2/3 should be also considered.

I'm fairly impressed with the photo. Shot in RAW with a little noise reduction added, that picture comes out nearly perfect.

I'm very happy with the result. Yes the shots are under-exposed but in general that's how Canon like their samples

The chroma noise should be fixable quite easily and the luminance noise is not plagued with banding so I think Canon has a great camera in their hands... Now if only it could be in ours too...

At Least we know what the Canon guy was shooting in Kenya with the 1Dx and the 600 mm f/4 L IS II

The number 9 image at 12800 iso doesn't look bad apparently it was almost the night !

If I hadn't already owned and used extensively the 5d, 5d2, 1d mkIII and 1d mkIV I would jump ship in an instant if I went by these HORRIBLE sample images Canon spit out, they are useless!!

Rest assure the IQ of the 5d3 and 1d X will NOT be like the samples.....

Can't really tell from this limited sample set, but I'm not seeing much of a difference in ISO performance between the 1Dx and 5DIII.
