Saw this rumor...I would love for Canon to add "Image Stabilization" to a new 180mmf3.5 Macro or even a new 200mm Macro.
My 180mm has been with me over 20 years and still performs flawlessly BUT I am getting old and have hand tremors.
I have found that most "IS" lenses work very well to stop the OOF from the hand tremors.
