It's difficult to takes announcements serious on April 1st.
Though the specs look very good.

It's even harder to take it seriously when the last line of the article is "Happy fool's day"
It is, but the spec doesn't seem to be outrageous so where's the joke? I thought it looked like an attractive successor to the 60D. I still miss my 60D.

It will be interesting to see what the "ALL NEW" 18 mp sensor is like
(not holding my breath though)

99% VF is a big improvement
as would be the 25 pt AF and the 7 odd FPS

might be a decent camera if its all actually true :P

It could be that the specs are 100 percent accurate, and there lies the April Fools Day joke...... Publish the real specs and nobody believes you :)

There's already an attractive successor to the 60D, it's called the 7D... ;)

Of course, but wouldn't that go more as an upgrade? :P

Interesting. This seems reasonable and a decent update. It all comes down to whether that "new sensor" is actually new and improved over the "current." Other major factors for me is AFMA and whether or not the "60" in 1920x1080 movie mode is 60p or 60i. Knowing Canon, I'm guessing the latter but it would be amazing if there was a 5 or 10 second burst mode of 60p at full HD. It really isn't hard or expensive to implement this and no doubt the Digic 6 or even the Digic 5 are capable of handling that.

Indeed, I'd have to agree with you! :D

The joke is that even if the specs are close to what will be released, how would the web site have actual specs this long before a release. Yes they got the specs, the Easter bunny told them (or was it the APril 1st fairy?)

What about that specs? 25 AF Points and a ALL NEW 18 Mp would be very nice. The 7.3 FPS are almost as fast as the 7D. So it this point I'd say this camera is superior to a current 7D which would be nice in this class. But on the other Hand....its April 1st :-D

Assuming it's real, a big if, sounds pretty solid for a 70D (especially if the sensor is new process and not way behind Nikon/Sony/etc.) and speaks well of what the 7D2 might be.
