Official 7D Mark III Sample Images & Movies from Canon Japan (Full Res)

I see people posting those crappy Matt Granger shots everywhere and even though I've posted this link, no one seems to have noticed, so I'm creating a post dedicated to it:

Official 7D Mark II Sample Images & Movies from Canon Japan

Personally, I think the squirrel shot at ISO 3200 looks at least a stop or two better than the 7D but the ISO 6400 night shot of the city doesn't look so hot.

I´ve been through them and in my view this looks very promising. It was after I saw these I pushed the preorder button. I am really looking forward to see how it works on the 200-400 f4L IS 1.4x and 600 f4L IS II lenses. If IQ is OK with the 1.4xIII extender on the 600, it gives phenomenal reach.

If you download the images and tweak them in LR you´ll see lots of additional info in shadow areas etc. I´m not sure what kind of processing they have been through. I agree on your ISO assessment.

In decent to good light, I think the 7DII will be an amazing camera. In lower light, it might be if the RAW files are as good as the ISO 3200 squirrel photo appear to be. And you always have the 1D X when you shoot in the moonlight ;)

As for the processing, if these are like all of the other samples Canon posts, they are most likely straight-out-of-camera JPEGs, which the EXIF data seems to corroborate. That means the DIGIC 6 has done its magic, which is probably substantial. In the ISO 6400 city shot, you can definitely see the heavy handed processing, making me think that the RAW wouldn't be too great. The 3200 shot looks far less processed, leading me to believe that DxO PRIME would do very well with the RAW file.
