I have no idea how could one newspaper making this kind of mistake, of putting a NIKON right above a Canon camera, and saying Nikon Eos 80D.

"If it has a good DR it must be a Nikon" ;D

No trouble at all believing this. Wind up in the news someday, and you'll lose any level of belief in the media. Or better yet, get interviewed and have them report on what you said, and you'll be blown away with how innacurate "reporters" can be.

The kicker is that we all will read something in the news that we know a lot about and laugh out rear end off at the source, and then turn around and read something we know nothing about and believe it willingly. :P

Oh No! If it is a Nikon (with great DR) then it will have crap AF?!? So I can raise the shadows by many stops and truly see that the AF has missed!

Sorry for the dig!
I have been playing with the latest Nikon SuperTeles, the D4S and the D5 today. The new 500 and 600mm F4 lenses look to be a significant improvement on their predecessors and the D5 shows some marked upgrades - especially in the AF department over the D4S. The trouble is that they still didn't compete too well against my 1DX (Mk1?) and 800mm F5.6. I then tried out the Canon Mk2 superteles on the 1DX (Mk1) and things got even better. Unfortunately I couldn't try the 1DX2 on the big lenses but I did get to use it with a 24-70 F2.8 V2 - VERY NICE!
Only a fool would say that Nikon sensors are not some of the best (if not the best) going - but if the AF is lagging (and it is) then the system is not the best! Well certainly not the best for me.
