Opinion: Canon’s mounting woes

Hi!
Is your RF 100 macro tack sharp even in the corners at INFINITY? Because my EF 100 L isn't...and I'd like to use the RF for landscapes too.

The furthest I’ve used it is 3 meters or so, for portraits of my kids, so I wouldn’t know about infinity or corners

Canon has always been the worst for being aggressive against 3rd parties. Camera firmware updates or new camera releases would constantly break compatibility. Companies like Tamron and Sigma used to offer free AF chip upgrade services in the days before being able to flash new firmware into a lens. Canon is the reason third party makers started coming out with USB docks and, later, in-lens USB ports.

If a strong 3rd party ecosystem is important to you then Canon is not the right company to buy into.
