Hi guys, when I am shooting a scene, lets say the sun reflecting off of a lake, it often shows up in LCD viewed as a black spot, so I am assuming it is overexposed. How or what setting should I be using to remedy this problem?

Did you switch off the auto-lighting-optimizer? Today I intentionally tried to lure my 5D Mark III into overexposing some streetlights while shooting in the dark with up to ISO 12800 and the camera handled it just fine.

In case you switched the auto-lighting-optimizer off and you don't want to use it, you may have to manually underexpose the picture to get things right.
