[Q] When to not use ETTR?

I often use Av mode if possible and set my desired exposure 2/3 stop from zero.

When is the scenario, where in, it is desirable set exposure to 0 or negative?

Maybe like on a candle cake, when I want to get standard exposure (exposure 0) out of the candle?

When you need to control extreme highlights. ETTR inevitably reduces DR at the highlight end because you are sitting the exposure further up the response curve.
