R5II shutter button feel.

Is it me, or is it considerably lighter/softer than the R5? I don't have mine anymore to compare side by side, but after getting out to shoot a bunch today I felt like the shutter button is too light, and needs more definition for a full press vs. half.

Like you, I didn't have them side by side, but I haven't observed a difference. I do use the R8 and R5II side by side and don't notice a difference between those shutter buttons. That doesn't mean there isn't a difference, though

The R5II has pre-shoot capture feature. Perhaps they've designed the shutter button to more readily active pre-shoot capture when it's set to ON.

Shutter button on mine feels identical to the R6II. I never used the original R5 to compare to that though.
