I doubt Canon will have any rebates when they don't seem to be able to supply enough bodies to satisfy demand.
A few days ago CPW showed a discount of $200 on R5s and R6s. I just looked and it is gone. Likely due to overwhelming interest from buyers. It is the first discount I've seen for either body.
Thanks for that. The reason I am asking was in Canada I spotted a $200 off deal on the R6 up until Dec 31st and the same on the 24-105 F4. they are both back to regular prices. The 24-105 F4 is apparently in short supply in Canada I am hearing.
I think sometimes the earliest deals may be used to address currency fluctuations in Canada. If the price moves enough it can be cheaper to just buy and import from the US, which isn't great for Canadian retailers. Obviously that works both ways: speaking from memory, I remember reading a rumor here about incoming increases to lens prices in Canada and snapped up a 70-200 before it hit. That rumour was right, and saved me a noticable amount of money!
Right now all things considered it looks to be a bit cheaper to buy an R5 in the US and import rather than buying here, so I could see some deals to address the issue if the CAD continues to get closer to the USD.
Not a sign here in Germany. Maybe when they are phased out
In May Canon normally starts its summer promo. Will be interesting if any of those will be included...
