I've really only heard good things about the Canon refurbs. No 1 years warranty though––I believe it is 90 day. They're a great deal when Canon runs the 20% off refurbs. Then the price comes about to around 1500 for the 5dii.

I wonder when is the price going down for a brand new 5d2..
In christmas got to its lowest price ever, is it gonna get to that price again?

What was it again last Xmas, around $1900? Most likely supply & demand, if the MK3 is alittle pricey for some then maybe the MK2 will jump a bit or hold it's own.

With so many of the new 5D mark III's possibly being returned for various reasons, I'd likely jump on a refurb if the price was right.

I mean sure...resell might not be great, but I'm not buying this with the idea of ever reselling it again, you know?

I figure at worst, I might buy an extened warranty on a refurb, like from Square Deal or whatever their name is....

But I've often bough referbs on things...and I usually feel it would be a great product, like with apple refurbs. I figure it is basically a 'new' product, that they've taken and serviced and double checked....so likely as not, it will be better than new in some respects.

One thing I wondered...how would anyone know that you were selling a refurb? Is it marked somewhere that it is a refurbished product?

They come with a sticker on the bottom. It peals right off. I'm not sure if they keep track of the serial numbers. When selling it though I figure it's used and no longer "refurbished". And it's irrelevant if it's out of warranty. If someone explicitly asked I would tell them, but I don't think refurbs hurt resale value onced they've been used for a year.
