Selling 35mm 2.0 & 85mm 1.8 to buy 17-55 2.8

Hi all

So I currently use an xsi and have the kit lens, 35 2.0, 50 1.8 and the 85 1.8. Unfortunately, I've found the 35 not wide enough and the 85 too long for most of my needs. While I love the 85, I'm not terribly pleased with the 35. At this point, I'm looking for the convenience of a zoom. I've been eyeing the 17-55 2.8 as a one lens solution for most of my needs. though my wish list is long, my funds are short, so I need to sell the two lenses to buy the 17-55.
Anyone here familiar with Canadian pricing on used lenses? I'm trying to get $400 for the 85 and 300 for the 35. Is this a reasonable expectation? Remember, theses lenses are significantly more expensive new in canada than in the states. Any thoughts or advice? I've never sold any lenses before.

I don't know what area of Canada you're in, but in my area (GTA) the 85 is regularly advertised for $350, so don't expect more then $300. Craigslist and kijiji are the places to check.

While I don't have a good picture of the market in Canada for used lenses, I think your choice of the 17-55mm is sound. I have used this lens on two different crop bodies for several years and think it a solid choice.
