Simonxu11 -
Did you receive any kits with the 24-105mm? Or did you just get body only for now?
I'm curious how many of each dealers might have and when as I'm considering getting the kit instead of just the body.

Ah man - a dozen 5D Mk IIIs - all already sold by preorder to be shipped / picked up, or is that store stock?
This ks for the pictures!

A friend of mine (in the UK) made an early order for the 5DIII body. He got a phone call from the dealer saying that bodies wouldn't be in till about June, however plenty of 24-105 kits were available early. His kit arrives next Monday - so I will get to play with it next week ;D ;D

The Canon retailer in Taiwan just had a press conference for the 5D3 at noon (like 4 hours ago). People who attended said that according to the presentation, the camera body would be available on March 17 (though I heard the arrival shipment might arrive as early as in a few hours).

Edited: Shots from the press conference is up on Canon tw's FB page... yes, one of the slides does say March 17.

The price is not good, convert to US dollar it's $3800

UK store is Jacobs.

Prices in the UK are nearly 50% more than in the US

Man I cant wait to get my hands on that camera... I just wish, with this quality and level of camera, they give us a better strap... I never use their straps... especially having the branded camera "5d mark III" almost screams for attention like it's saying "hey creepy people, come mug me"... I end up using my CPS straps instead... More comfortable, still canon, better materials and lower key... Just a little quirk.

In case it hasn't been mentioned, Warehouse Express and Jacobs in the UK are now showing the 5D MkIII + 24-105 F/4L IS kit as 'in stock'; the 5D MkIII 'body only' is still 'pre-order' only. Plenty of the other dealers are still 'pre-order' only, with delivery date estimates varying from March to June (the latter now seems unlikely)!

Thanks, that's $3500 AU but it's a Beijing shop so I will do better in other cities, Shenzhen or Chengdu especially when you stand in front of them with a fist full of RMB. Still a better price than here. People worry about the warrantee but what is the likely hood of needing a repair under warrantee? As far back as I can remember I have never had an issue with a canon product.
