Silent Mode 1DX II VS 5DSR

After someone made me "an offer which I cannot reject" - I am planning to switch from my 1DX & 5D III to 2x 1DX II bodies (90% nature and wildlife).

The main reason is the high milage of my 1DX (shutter replaced once) and the ability of the 1DX II to use all AF points with my current tele lenses with an f8 setup.

The 5D III is mainly used in silent mode for sensitive subjects or when I am really close. Other than that I always use the 1DX.

I worried about continuous silent shutter of the 1DX II and was not sure if it will meet my demands.

Here is a comparison of continous silent shutter mode of the 1DX II VS the 5DSR (German). It helped me to make my decision easier:

Hi Silverman!

First of all congrats for getting such an awsome combo.

Second:
IMO this video is useless because the distance between mic and the two bodies is different and so the sounds you hear give you no real information at all. Without any further examination I cannot say if the camera in the vid really is a Mk II because you can only see the back of it (didn't want to compare button layout here).
I also cannot belive that someone who already has a 1DX Mk II (must be some "Canon Ambassador") would make such a crappy video. ==> Fake?!? (using a Mk I)

I have the 1DX, 5DIII and 5DSR. As most people know, the silent mode of the 1DX is pretty useless. The 5DSR in regular mode is quite silent and in silent mode even more so.
I have also played with a 1DXII (pre production model) and silent mode was one feature I was interested in hearing. I did not have any other camera available when I did, but I can confirm that it is more silent than the 1DX, but (significantly) more noisy than a 5DSR. In this video it sounds a bit like same same, but it is not.
Actually a very poor video, considering its purpose. I would expect someone within the test community to make a SPL metering in a controlled environment.

A closer look at the hotshoe tells me it could be a MkII because of the GPS bulge.
Still no good information in that video.

You can easily identify the right body as 1DX II: look on the new start/stop buttom "switch" (on the 1DX II now like on the 5D series) and the new joysticks.

The silent mode of the 1DX II has a different characteristic than the silent mode of 5DSR but also higher possible FPS in silent mode. The noise sounds very usable for my needs.

Thank you for showing this to me.

And if this video contains enough information for you than it's okay.
Please note, I didn't want to offense you for your decission,
I only wanted to say that this video wouldn't have helped me,
even though I am now convinced that it's a MkII.
