Would anyone know if skin covers for either of these cameras are available anywhere? I searched and failed.
Thx.

YES!!!!! Please, please, please speak up if you know of a skin. Also, screen protectors for the 1DX. I have an extra XO Skin for my 5D3 that I think will cover the main screen and the top screen.

I've never seen the point in screen protectors for a camera. #1, my screen never gets scratched, and thats with professional use, #2, if it does get scratched... so what? The screen doesn't take the photo. Who cares? The camera is a tool. A carpenter doesn't put a protective cover on his hammer so the nail doesn't scratch it up. :P

As far as a skin is concerned, sure, who doesn't want flames on their camera? But for the price I'm sure they would charge, no thanks.

Resale value :)

I heard the 5D Mark III screen would be more scratch-resistant. Not so.

He would if the hammer cost $6800! As for Screen protectors, That is a no brainer. I think not doing because the price is the epitome of "penny wise and dollar dumb"

I have three bodies I carry for safaries. I drive and the cameras are either in the back seat of the driver seat.
The skins help a lot in avoiding wear and tear.
And yes, I want my cameras to look as good as possible for re sale. Anything wrong with that? :)

how about screen protectors for the 1D X? I wasn't looking for a full body cover... just ones that protect all 3 LCDs.

I just but one on amazon for lets say an Ipad or I phone and then trace it out and cut to the size of screen I need rather than paying more for a special product.

The first set I bought was generic and cut them to fit too, but found 3 sets of custom precut ones for 5 bucks.

actually the silcone skins are WORSE because dust etc gets trapped between the body and the skin and so it becomes more like encasing your camera in sandpaper.
A much better ligthweight protection i have found are the lenscoat body bags
http://www.lenscoat.com/bodybag-black-p-478.html

they are well made tough, light weight, reasonably priced and provide very good protection
My wife has one on her 5Dmk3 and 24-70 and I have one on the EOS-M (The PS large fits this really well)
