See the look on his face? So confused that he hasn't found the acorn yet. And yet it's so close. Under the tree bark. He will find it and of course I wasn't there to capture it. But on another moment I did.

This is an old (2011) shot from a Panny ZS-7 (I didn't want to risk the 5D II on the riverboat). That otter ate the whole salmon head while we watched. Fierce little buggers.

The first one is what Alan says: "...quite amorous...". I assume in the second photo the front runner was the female (still amorous, may be more than on the first photo) and the male is behind (and he doesn't look amorous any more: he's looking kind of aggressive). Meanwhile the male probably did see what the female didn't and left the frame "oh, good luck you stupid..."
The third photo: female pushing the brakes in full - "OMG, I'm not sure ... WHAT???
That's my story and it's why I like all three !

Not that big actually: I think it's 13-15 cm in length. I can't count the ## of the legs between the stones but it's probably Scolopendra subspinipes which "normally" gets up to 20cm. On Maui someone captured a specimen with length 36.6 cm (if it's the same species or it could be a very new species!) !
