Strange Behavior - Canon 5D iii memory

Hey!

I am new to the high end photographers guild of the Canon 5D iii
I bought my first 5D camera yesterday - also my first professional camera.

It is an amazing camera but there is something about it I cant get my head around. When taking photos I can hear the shutter go off. exposure and ISO is fine for a well lit location. I get the 2 sec preview of the picture I am taking. However it does not save to either my SD card (A Sandisk 64gb with write speed 10) nor does it save to the CF card (Sandisk Extreme 60mb/s 32gb)

Looking in to it, this seems to be a problem only when I am using the LCD Screen as a Viewfinder and not looking trough the eyepiece.

I have formated both cards. Set destination for saving the photos and skimmed the web for a full day straight. cant find an answer to this question nor can i find anyone that have had this issue before. I am completely lost

How do i fix this problem? Is there any seasoned professionals that might be able to help out? I would be very grateful!

Thank you for any response or feedback!

You might just not be pressing the shutter button down enough on single shot. Sometimes the camera can trick you into thinking you took a picture when in fact the shutter button wasn't fully depressed. Try again but making sure to really press the button down.

You said this only happened when you are using the LCD (live view). My guess is that the sound you heard is the camera locking the mirror when you enable live view. You still need to press the shutter all the way down to take your shot.
